They've lost several key court battles and are now heading to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg

The parents of eight-month-old Indi Gregory have said it is a parent's "duty to protect your child" as they continue to fight to prevent their daughter's life support from being switched off. Sharing an update on Indi's health on Tuesday, October 24, father Dean Gregory said he and Indi's mother Claire Staniforth, from Ilkeston, were "heartbroken".

"And we both heartbroken. It shouldn't be anybody's right to end somebody's life." A hearing at the Court of Appeal in London on Monday saw lawyers representing Mr Gregory argue that the original decision allowing medics to stop providing her critical care was often based on "hearsay evidence."But Lady Justice Knight said the original judgement had been made following "extremely anxious scrutiny" and denied permission to appeal.

But Indi's parents challenged the view of QMC medics and a legal dispute therefore began on September 15. Following several hearings, a High Court judge recently ruled that those treating Indi could withdraw the critical care they were giving to her.
