When asked whether they approve of how Biden is handling his job as president, a striking 69% of respondents aged 18-29 said they"somewhat" or"strongly disapprove." Only 1% in that age group said they"strongly approve" of Biden's job performance, and he has a combined 19% approval rating with them.
The aggregate disapproval for Biden is lower for higher age groups — 58% disapproval for ages 30-44, 64% for 45-64, and 51% for Biden's own age demographic of 65+. Likewise, in the recent Civiqs poll, only 20% of voters under age 34 approved of Biden, who had an overall approval rating of 30%. Just as President Barack Obama likely inspired the millennial generation, it seems Biden is turning them off. That doesn't mean Biden is inspiring a generation of Trump supporters — in fact, in the head-to-head, the same poll shows Biden beating Trump 38% to 30% among this youngest age group. But 22% say they wouldn't vote under such circumstances. Just imagine if Republicans put forward a decent non-Trump candidate.
