The National Fire Academy uses many of Eric Saylors’ published articles to instruct future chiefs.
Saylors, who began his new position in early August, is an experienced leader and third-generation firefighter with 27 years in fire service. He most recently served as the Assistant Fire Chief for the Sacramento Fire Department, a department in which Saylors had served since 1998 in the roles of battalion chief, captain, engineer and firefighter/paramedic. He began his fire service career for the Galt Fire Department as a resident firefighter in 1995.
Saylors is a nationally recognized expert in active shooter training, fire service metrics, leadership and succession planning.
