Judge Donald Middlebrooks harshly critiqued Trump’s legal filings in a ruling explaining why the case was being tossed out.

Trump had unsuccessfully sought to push Middlebrooks, who was appointed a federal judge by President Bill Clinton in 1997, to recuse himself from the case earlier this year. “Acting in concert, the Defendants maliciously conspired to weave a false narrative that their Republican opponent, Donald J. Trump, was colluding with a hostile foreign sovereignty,” Trump’s legal team said in June.
