Illinois woman who survived attack that killed fellow U of I grad from Naperville is released from German hospital

The paper also reported her friend was from downstate Bloomington.The older woman fell nearly 165 feet down a steep slope but was able to leave the hospital Friday, police spokesperson Holger Stabik said. The two women were longtime friends, having graduated together from the Illinois Math & Science Academy in Aurora in 2019 and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in May. Both received degrees in computer science.
“Both had just graduated in May and should have been able to celebrate such an important accomplishment without the fear of such a tragic outcome,” U of I Associate Chancellor Robin Kaler said.
