World No. 1 Iga Świątek held off Karolína Muchová in three sets to win the 2023 French Open women’s final at Roland Garros. The 22-year-old becomes the youngest woman to win four Grand Slams since Serena Williams.

Muchová reached this year’s final after upsetting world No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka in a thriller Thursday, winning 7-6, 6-7, 7-5. Świątek defeated American star Coco Gauff in the quarterfinals and Brazil’s Beatriz Haddad Maia in the semis to secure a spot in the title match.By winning Saturday’s opening set, Świątek became the first singles player to win their first seven Grand Slam final sets in the Open Era.

Świątek’s third French Open title is also her second straight and marks her first major championship since beating Ons Jabeur in last year’s US Open final. She becomes the first woman to win back-to-back French Open titles since 2007.in the championship match Sunday at 9 a.m. ET.
