, I feel like I am gazing into a pack of Starbursts. The musician’s wardrobe is chock full of every colour of the saccharine rainbow. He’s the aurora borealis of glucose. It’s impossible to miss him and his sometimes bleach-blonde, now-cotton candy pink head on the red carpet or on the street.
But it was this week that the pretty boy 6’4” artist caught my eye. This week, he made an appearance onshirt that fastened at the waist and exposed his completely tattooed chest. On the bottom, he opted for grey trousers and black combat boots that could have been worn to a Renaissance Faire. MGK reminded me of the swaggy heartthrob Guy Perkins inwho wore open button-ups and boots to high school with such a saucy nonchalance as if he were a teenage prince.
Machine Gun Kelly takes this daring aesthetic to extremes. After all, this is the same guy who this past week smashed a champagne flute on his face during his performance of “My Ex’s Best Friend” at an after-party. He proceeded to perform with blood dripping from his brow onto his light pink mesh shirt and pink pants. When he left the scene, he threw on a patch-worked coat crafted out of nuclear-hued zebra prints.
