Chevin Forest Park sits right on the border of West and North Yorkshire, and is a beautiful experience
The hill, with a name that dates back to Celtic times, before the Saxons conquered England, is a key feature of the town. You can see it from the other side of town and its always present in views from Otley.
The first thing you notice is how much space there is, you really could spend hours walking around and taking in the sights. From the local flora and fauna to some beautiful views of the Wharfedale Valley. Thankfully you can avoid most of the mud by sticking to the paths and the tree cover does help dodge the rain, although I would recommend a waterproof coat if you plan on visiting anytime soon. At first you walk among the different trees in a fairly quiet environment, save for the occasional squirrel rooting around the ground for food or a bird singing in the trees.
