Man who waged campaign of racist harassment says 'I am truly sorry for what I did'
A Lincoln white supremacist jailed for over 12 years after he sent fake anthrax to the Queen and organised a ‘Punish a Muslim Day’ campaign has apologised and blamed online material for “brainwashing” him.He sent over 300 malicious letters to public figures, and was charged with soliciting murder, a bomb hoax, sending a fake noxious substance and distributing letters encouraging others to harm Muslims.
“I no longer harbour negative thoughts against Islam or the Muslim community. I’m also sorry for the stress I caused my former colleagues at City Hall, and my family.“Being in hospital has helped my recovery. I do art and gardening amongst other things. I believe we live in a beautiful world, if more people realised this then there would be less hatred.
Another was addressed to Queen Elizabeth II, with fake anthrax and a note that read “The Clowns R coming 4 u” in 2018. Two years earlier, he had sent similar letters containing white powder to the then-Prime Minister Theresa May, the Home Office, and two bishops – prompting a Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear response.
