Harpo’s Pizza has been in business for 44 years, serving takeaway pizza to the people of Leeds just as the concept of pizza-in-a-box began to take-off in the UK.
We ordered the pizza Andreas, which sounded utterly fantastic on the menu, coming with mozzarella cheese, tomato, chorizo, pepperoni, red peppers and olives. A good balance of meat and vegetables. The side dishes were adequate. The chicken goujons were massive, perfectly crisp and well-cooked. The chips, no complaints there, really well made and resembled the fries from McDonald’s. But I can hardly recommend a pizzeria and say 'the pizza isn’t all that great but go for the sides'.
Never again. Which is a shame as Harpo’s was a name held with so much affection in North Leeds for good pizza.
