‘I never thought he had a ceiling’ – Local draft pick Bolte is ready to be a pro with the A’s
His high school coach said he has the most potential of any player he ever coached.His own father said he did not dare put a ceiling on what his son could achieve.
“I was just really excited to get drafted here, and it couldn’t have worked out better,” Bolte said before he participated in an on-field workout. “We’re 30 minutes down the road, and then I’ll play in Stockton, which is an hour and a half from my house.” “You know, I try to play like Rickey Henderson. I may not be as fast as him because he’s special, but I go out there and play that type of way,” Bolte said. “I’m stealing bases and putting pressure on the other team.”
