U.S. authorities have arrested a Florida man in connection with the disappearance of his estranged wife in Spain three months ago. David Knezevich appeared in Miami federal court Monday on charges that he is involved in the Feb. 2 kidnapping of his wife Ana from the Madrid apartment where she had been staying since their separation last year.

“The Spanish National Police, Customs and Border Protection, the Diplomatic Security Service, and the FBI continue their investigation. Because this is an ongoing investigation, no further information will be released,” the FBI said in a statement. “I am happy that there has been an arrest,” Rameau said Monday. “We are hoping that this next chapter will bring justice and find answers about what has happened to Ana.”
