Sen. Tim Scott responded to news that President Joe Biden's son will avoid jail time for tax and gun-related charges by attacking the Justice Department as"weaponized" against conservatives, promising to fire its leaders if elected president in 2024.
"We all have to be treated equally under the eyes and the laws of our country. And when the Bidens get away with that, we need to thank God for Sen. Grassley and congressman [James] Comer for doing their jobs," he added. Likewise, Comer said the charges"have no impact on the Oversight Committee’s investigation.
