The humanitarian situation in Ukraine continues to deteriorate as officials say aid headed to Mariupol was blocked by Russian forces.
Ukrainian Minister of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk said Tuesday that a convoy of eight trucks and 30 buses headed to the city was delayed, as Russian forces fired weapons in the direction of a humanitarian corridor."Due to Russian shelling targeting people and cargo, the corridor was not opened," Vereshchuk said."This is a humanitarian disaster that demands the world's attention.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the worsening situation in a speech Tuesday, saying that people were without water, food, and electricity in the city. Zelensky said agreements with Russians to create humanitarian corridors"didn't work" and that when Russian forces fire on these vehicles,"it will be before the eyes of the whole world."
