The new shop is expected to create around 40 jobs
Sefton Council granted planning permission for a huge new B&M store at Southport's Central 12 shopping park earlier this year. The proposals included converting two empty stores into one large B&M with a garden sales area at the back.
At the time B&M said the new store will create around 40 jobs. The budget retailer also made assurances that the new store wouldn't mean its Lord Street store would close down.B&M bosses said they “remained committed” to staying at the Lord Street site at least until the end of the current lease, which runs out in December 2025, and instead said that the plans mean an expansion within the town rather than a relocation.
This week, a spokesperson from B&M told the ECHO: "We’re feeling extremely positive about opening our new store in Southport, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.B&M is also opening new stores in Fazakerley and Widnes, with a third having recently opened in Fforestfach in Swansea.
