'Burnley 1 - USA 0'
Before she moved to East Lancashire barely a year ago, Ashlyn Pace-Ferguson's southern pals thought they had the north summed up.
Ashlyn was born in London and moved to Connecticut with her family at a young age, growing up in the States but visiting England "on and off" throughout the years. However, 10 months ago, she made the permanent move to Burnley and has been "surprised" by how much she has liked living in Lancashire.
The missionary programme refers to the missionaries in the Church who volunteer as representatives to enagage in service, humanitarian aid and community service in a part of the world they are assigned. She said: "I'm still waiting to see something a little bit more normal, portrayed what it's actually like.
For the young American in general, Ashlyn has enjoyed the transition from living in the States to Lancashire, not only for a change in pace, but also for Lancashire's spectacular scenery. She said she's been on "a lot of walks" in Rossendale and in the Ribble Valley, saying that it gives her a chance to "pause and think."
