It’s been almost a month and a half since Patrick Kane was traded from the Chicago Blackhawks to the New York Rangers. He was torn on leaving where he had played his entire career. Now that he’s gone, he’s happy with his decision. ✍️ ByScottPowers

There’s an ease about him. It’s been almost a month and a half since he was traded from theto the Rangers. Enough time has passed to where he’s gotten comfortable wearing a different uniform, being in a new environment and learning how to best navigate his new life. For instance, he now knows he needs to call 20 minutes ahead for his car to be ready at the parking garage, which is a few blocks away, and to plan another 40 minutes for the drive to the Rangers’ practice facility.

Despite all the logic, Kane was still hesitant. He was torn on leaving where he had played his entire career. Now that he’s gone, he’s happy with his decision. As much as that’s the case, Kane thought he had a little longer with the Blackhawks than he did. He didn’t think his last home game at the United Center would be Feb. 21, when he had a last-second overtime winner overturned.

“I’m sure it’s not exactly what they wanted or whatever, but still kind of give back a little bit,” Kane said. “It’s crazy,” Kane said. “I think a few years ago, like Seabrook retiring, and that was he was my best friend. For the longest time, we hung out with each other on the road, went to dinners, cards on the plane. Just like every day, he was there, and then all of a sudden, he’s gone and just like not there anymore. And then, same thing with Duncs . Like he got traded, he’s gone, he’s not there anymore.
