Liverpool sold Dominic Solanke to Bournemouth for an initial £19m back in 2019
It’s taken a little while but Dominic Solanke’s performances for Bournemouth in recent seasons have seen become a bonafide Premier League marksman.
His highlight reel after just two matches of this Premier League season, where he netted in the opening day draw at home to West Ham United, has seen him draw admiring glances. West Ham, on the wrong side of Solanke’s display on matchday one, are one of those to have taken an interest in the striker, who signed for Liverpool in 2017 from Chelsea for a tribunal set fee, believed to be around £3m.
Solanke signed an extension to his Cherries deal last August, but that likely won’t impact any potential monies that would be due to Liverpool should Bournemouth be strongarmed by a Premier League rival for his services. “The clauses don’t tend to just expire, and with them not linked to playing contracts, unless a player has expressed a wish to buyout a clause in their deal, then they usually tend to remain until activated or the player’s contract winds down and they leave on a free transfer.”
