Dangerous heat is going to persist
across the Houston area through the weekend. Friday and Saturday are forecasted to be particularly brutal, with the heat index breaking 110 degrees. The worst heat will be on the west side of the metro area. And don't expect much relief, according to the latest forecasts. The very hot temperatures could continue through next week and possibly into the following weekend.
Heat Advisory is in effect for Thursday for all of Southeast Texas. High temps are expected to approach 100 degrees with heat index values in a 108-112 range. This heat will stay in place for a while.
