Houston police are investigating a deadly accident in southeast Houston between an 18-wheeler and a bicyclist.
HPD Sergeant Jimmy James says an accident occurred between an 18-wheeler and a bicyclist around 4:30 p.m. on Friday evening in the 11000 block of Fuqua.
A tractor-trailer driver was pulling out of Goodwill and went into the wrong side of Sabo Road. Sergeant James says he was told the driver does this all of the time.While pulling out, he attempted to go the wrong way of traffic. At the same time, a bicyclist was also traveling on the wrong side of Sabo Road.The cyclist was struck by the truck, James said, and they were pronounced dead on the scene.
Authorities are investigating the incident and working to review surveillance footage from outside the Goodwill.
