House of the Dragon, which is set 200 years before Game of Thrones, begins by introducing a young Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, the heir apparent to the Iron Throne, and Lady Alicent Hightower, the daughter of the Hand of the King.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY As Alcock and Carey's performances remain beloved, two doppelgängers have recently been garnering some attention online. Shared @anniegull_ on TikTok, the duet unites the original poster, who looks strikingly similar to Carey, side-by-side with @kennedypowerz, who looks uncannily like Alcock, effectively bringing young Rhaenyra and Alicent together once again. The video garnered a reaction from Carey herself, who simply commented, "omg.
Alcock has already addressed the possibility of House of the Dragon bringing her and Carey back, revealing that there have been talks about their return, though nothing had been decided yet. Shortly after, House of the Dragon showrunner Ryan Condal offered some clarifying remarks on the subject, stating that the return of young Rhaenyra and Alicent is not a part of the current plans for season 2. At the same time, it's not something he can rule out for future seasons.
Game of Thrones season 5 featured a flashback showing a young Cersei Lannister's visit to Maggy the Frog, a fortune teller who informs her of the Valonqar prophecy. With prophecy also proving crucial to the prequel show, House of the Dragon could also revisit earlier time periods to explore pertinent prophecies, except it will have the benefit of bringing back younger actors who have already been previously introduced.
