House GOP RepGregSteube released from hospital after fall
The 44-year-old congressman fell off a ladder 25 feet to the ground, a statement on Twitter read. He was trimming the trees of his Sarasota, Florida home and later found by a Republican staffer in the neighborhood doing part-time delivery work.
"I’m grateful to be home and recovering after being discharged from the hospital today. All praise and glory goes to God!" Steube tweeted by way of announcement."Jen and I remain endlessly blessed by the prayers and support from our friends, family, and community." I would like to extend my deepest thanks to the entire team at Sarasota Memorial Hospital for the excellent care I received.
While he has returned home, it remains to be seen when Steube will return to his Washington, D.C. office. Steube promised his office would continue to update his eventual return. This injury comes as House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith called on Democrats last week to address and negotiate"reckless spending." Steube is one of the GOP members of the committee.
