Homes and businesses were evacuated as the 51-year-old was charged with possession of a destructive weapon.
A 51-year-old man was found with four pipe bombs in his vehicle Wednesday in a Mercer County town, prompting the evacuation of homes and businesses in the area, authorities said.said after puling over Jeremey Giliberti in the area South Broad Street and Oldfield Avenue.
Police shut down roads in the area and evacuated businesses and homes before the State Police’s bomb squad seized the materials, removed them and disassembled them, officials said. Authorities then obtained a search warrant and found another pipe bomb Giliberti’s Mount Laurel home, police said. The bomb squad also removed that pipe bomb. Giliberti is charged with possession of a destructive device and brought to the Mercer County jail.
