In a new interview, Hillary Clinton spoke about Elizabeth Warren's allegations that Bernie Sanders told the Massachusetts senator that a woman could not win the presidency.
, Clinton said that Sanders' alleged comments in 2018 to Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren echoed statements Sanders made against her during the 2016 election.
"I think [that sentiment] is untrue, which we should all say loudly," Clinton said of the idea that a woman cannot win the presidency in 2020."I mean, I did get more votes both in the primary by about 4 million, and in the general election, by about 3 million." "[I]t's not only him, it's the culture around him," she told THR."It's his leadership team. It's his prominent supporters.... And I really hope people are paying attention to that because it should be worrisome that he has permitted this culture—not only permitted, [he] seems to really be very much supporting it."
