She also reprised her character for the 2003 Disney movie, which sees the teenager and her classmates, including best friend Gordo , travel to Rome for a school trip.In the film, Lizzie gets mistaken for European pop-star Isabella , who is part of a famous double-act with ex-boyfriend Paolo . Lizzie strikes up a romance with Paolo, who convinces her to impersonate Isabella live on stage.
As Lizzie prepares to take to the stage, the real Isabella appears informing her that Paolo has plans to humiliate her on stage. The two take Paolo down and Lizzie performs "What Dreams Are Made Of" in front of a jubilant crowd at The Roman Colosseum.
