Robert Kingdon says he “would be dead” if it wasn’t for staff at Grow Wild Organics in Linlithgow

A man who suffered a heart attack in a West Lothian shop has thanked hero workers for saving his life.

Yvonne was speaking to Robert when he began swaying and suddenly collapsed. She shouted for help from Ally who immediately rang 999 before she started performing CPR on Robert when he turned a horrific shade of purple. “If you can be revived within five minutes of a heart attack you stand a good chance of making a good recovery and Yvonne and Ally kept my breathing and circulation going. during that time Anything more than five minutes and the chances of you not making it or having a brain injury are very high.Yvonne, 34, says she feels overwhelmed by Robert’s gratitude and only did what she could.

“He then started turning a horrendous shade of purple and I realised he was dying. Panic really set in then and I started doing CPR. It was quite terrifying. But we somehow kept going until the paramedics arrived, thankfully very quickly.
