, as a horny sexy vampire? Also known as Count Dracula in the 1897 book by Bram Stoker the 1922 film was based on, Orlok is an aristocratic Transylvanian vampire. Or perhaps Harry would have been Thomas Hutter; the British estate agent who comes to help the Count sell his castle and ends up falling into his dark, alluring web?
Addressing the speculation, Eggers has confirmed Harry was meant to play the latter. “I do want to be clear that Harry was going to be Thomas Hutter and not the vampire,” he told. We can assume Anya will be playing Ellen Hutter, the estate agent’s wife, who Orlok desires and subsequently pursues to England.
“I hope that it happens. I’ve spent so much time, you know, thinking about it and scouting: it would be a shame if it somehow doesn’t happen. But it seems shocking to me that it’s fallen apart twice already,” he also added. Ininterview he also revealed he put on a lauded stage production of the vampire story in high school, and that he was due to be in Prague to start pre-production for the movie shortly. It seems, then, work on the remake is still likely to go ahead.
It also makes sense that Harry wouldn’t be able to spend the next few months working on the movie, given his new album,, is scheduled to be released in May. He’s also headlining Coachella this spring and gearing up for a world tour in the summer, and so there’s maybe not a lot of space for bonus horny horror projects.
