Greenwich Concours is changing for 2023, and this means more for enthusiasts to see over a two-day period. Here’s what’s coming up in less than two months.
The new Saturday theme is Concours de Sport, with the show's organizers promising"a motorports-inspired concours experience" with 15 judged classes. Sunday, meanwhile, will be the day of the Concours d'Elegance with 18 judged classes.
For much of its 27-year history, Greenwich had featured a two-day format with Concours Americana on Saturday and Concours Europa on Sunday, with the second day famous for rare supercar sightings on the show field and in the parking lot alike. "The addition of a Concours de Sport represents enthusiasts' call for an additional day of concours displays and an opportunity to celebrate the rich history of competition central to the Northeast automotive culture," said Hagerty CEO McKeel Hagerty."Our purpose at Greenwich, and our company, is to save driving and car culture for future generations.
The return to a two-day format, with Concours de Sport on Saturday, should be a welcome addition to the concours."I've had the pleasure of traveling the world thanks to this wonderful community, but to be celebrated in my own backyard is something special," said Carini."I'm thrilled to gather with the people and cars that have been such a big part of my life and hope to return that positivity to the guests and participants at the Concours this year.
