A flash flood warning is in effect for San Antonio and the surrounding areas until 10:45 p.m., issued by the National Weather Service.

As severe thunderstorms sweep through South-Central Texas, authorities are closing roads throughout the northern half of Bexar County.

Fiesta Fiesta, the kickoff event of the 10-day Fiesta celebration, was canceled after the storm swamped Travis Park. The National Weather Service reports that up to three inches of rain have fallen throughout San Antonio so far, and golf ball-size hail pounded parts of the city. Strong to severe storms continue along a line from Fredericksburg to Round Rock to College Station. The forward motion of these storms has slowed so flooding is becoming more of a concern, but hail and strong wind gusts remain possible. Turn around, don’t drown.
