Heatwave: Northern Ireland records hottest day of the year heatwave
The sun was shining at Antrim Castle, near Belfast International Airport, which recorded 28C by early afternoon
It was almost 29C in Armagh at 14:00 BST, when several locations including Belfast International Airport registered 28C.That is the highest temperature recorded in Dublin and the highest temperature of the 21st Century across the island.for extreme heat are in place across Great Britain.However, there is no weather warning in place for Northern Ireland.
Translink has suspended train tickets to Helen's Bay until further notice, and police said were in the area due to a build up of traffic and parking issues. Dr Brid Farrell from the Public Health Agency advised people to stay in cool areas and to drink plenty of water due to the heat.
