Heath Burns leaves Hueytown High School to become the new Jasper basketball coach. He has a 318-134 career record with stops at Dora, Parrish and Cordova before three years at Hueytown.

“This opportunity was unexpected and all happened so fast. I took this as a family opportunity. From September until mid-February, you’re looking at six or maybe seven nights a week that you don’t see your family much. This is my opportunity to go home and be with my family. I couldn’t turn it down in my 25th year of coaching.”
“It is tough to leave Hueytown,” he said. “These three years have been extra special. The community was wonderful and these kids are outstanding.”
