During the press conference for the fight, Benn switched into Spanish mid-sentence to send a message to his opponent.
The Brit began by saying: "He's my world title fight, that's how I treat every fight, irrelevant of people saying it should be a warm up or it should be a stepping stone, I treat every fight like it's my world title fight." Before he started speaking in fluent Spanish, saying via translation: "I also have come well-prepared. I am super ready for this fight. I had a lot of time, you know.”
At this point, promoter Hearn chimed in and said: "I got that too," and his response was greeted by a chuckle from those in attendance.
