Colt McCoy, a former Texas Longhorn quarterback great and current backup with the Arizona Cardinals, paid off a debt this week after losing a bet on the outcome of the Texas-Texas Tech football game last Saturday.
, Kingsbury, a native to the San Antonio area and former head coach of Texas Tech, said the bet wasn’t his.
“No, no, I wouldn’t do that to him. I wasn’t gonna make that bet because I’m not wearing that burnt orange s---, I can assure you,” Kingsbury said. “He’s like Mr. Texas. Like that is the guy in the state of Texas. So, I wouldn’t do him like that.” McCoy, a former Heisman Trophy finalist, is second all-time in games won by an NCAA Division I FBS quarterback. He was a two-time All-American, and has had his no. 12 jersey retired by UT.“He’s hurt,” Kingsbury told ESPN. “You can see his face. He looks like his dog died, man. I don’t rub it in.”
