Hayward Unified names new interim superintendent
HAYWARD – The Hayward Unified board has unanimously chosen Chien Wu-Fernandez to serve as interim superintendent.
“The board conducted a thorough process to consider all available options for support during this important transition,’’ Board President April Oquenda said in a statement. “We believe that the experience that Mrs. Wu-Fernandez brings, and her familiarity with the district and schools, make her the ideal candidate to step into this critical role.’’
“Stability and continuity are of paramount importance while we search for the next superintendent,’’ Oquenda said. “We look forward to a close partnership with Mrs. Wu-Fernandez over the ensuing months.’’
