But after Harry and Meghan, 41, decided to step back from senior royal duties in 2020, discussions were ongoing with the Palace over the use and style of their family's titles. "King Charles feels railroaded," the source told us exclusively. "As far as he was concerned the title matter had not yet been resolved."
The source said: "They knew the christening was taking place but couldn't attend due to work commitments. They were invited at the very last minute.The Duke and Duchess of Sussex publicly referred to their daughter as Princess Lilibet Diana for the first time this week as they announced their daughter had been christened at their home in Montecito, California.
In another statement released on Thursday, a spokesman for the couple said: "The children's titles have been a birthright since their grandfather became Monarch. This matter has been settled for some time in alignment with Buckingham Palace."
