It will also not affect people going home from work, or people traveling through the city, according to the news release.

Police also say they’ve noticed an uptick in car thefts and taking firearms off juveniles,” Maisel said. “Businesses downtown have also asked police to do more about fights at night.” “Police are sorting through specifics on increasing their details downtown as well,” Maisel said. “The mayor and Commissioner Carter don’t expect it to be a magic eraser to the issues at large, but they believe it is better than doing nothing.”“We need to do a better job by our kids. This ordinance is to benefit them,” said Mayor Wanda R.D. Williams. “There is no reason why children should be out at night, disrupting neighborhoods and getting involved in fights.
