A guard is accused of smuggling drugs into the Chester County Prison.The Chester County District Attorney's Office says Antoine Williams, 27, of Philadelphia, faces eight felony counts for bringing drugs, hidden inside small trash bag rolls, into the prison. The DA says Williams then sold the drugs to inmates.'The defendant was hired as correctional officer to uphold the law and keep order in the prison, but he completely violated his position of authority. No one is above the law.
A statement from the DA's office said Williams would bring marijuana, Percocet and Suboxone into the prison in the trash ag rolls and leave the rolls on cell bars. Payments for the drugs would be made through a cash app.The acting warden, Howard Holland, said prison procedures uncovered the smuggling.A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 18.
