Romeo Bankhead, 21, was found dead just before 4 a.m. Monday in Hueytown. The shooter has been interviewed but was not immediately charged.

Lt. Michael Shupe said parties involved, including the shooter, have been identified and interviewed. After consulting with the Bessemer Cutoff District Attorney’s Office, the decision was made to present the case to a grand jury for indictment consideration. No charges are being filed at this time. Bankhead is Hueytown’s third homicide this year, and the second in just over a week.
