Firms contracted by the Government to provide services including temporary workers and repairing key infrastructure were “named and shamed” on a list of companies who had failed to pay staff the minimum wage.
Firms listed had been found in breach by HMRC for violations including docking staff’s pay below the minimum wage, unpaid working time, including for mandatory training or trial shifts, and failure to pay apprentices the correct wages. A coach is used to transport detainees from Heathrow Immigration Removal Centre. The detention centre is run by outsourcer Mitie .
