The city is looking to develop a sustainable fashion industry but has been warned to remember the people employed around the world.
Glasgow needs to remember the millions of women employed in the textile industry across the world as the council works to develop a sustainable industry closer to home.
The issue was raised at a recent full council meeting by Green councillor Holly Bruce who wanted to know what work had been done on developing a “sustainable” fashion economy in Glasgow.Councillor Susan Aitken informed members that discussions had been ongoing with the UK fashion and textiles council and that technology was developing all the time.
