The woman felt 'vulnerable and embarrassed' after the racist incident
A woman driving near the Silverburn shopping centre was left in shock after a middle aged man stepped out his vehicle in the middle of the road and screamed vile racial abuse towards her.
"I could see a figure making gestures in their mirror but I couldn't tell what they were doing. So I was cautious and tried to give myself some room, I didn't know if they wanted me to hit the back of them, or if they had a child on board. "He then told me to get that 'dirty music off, you dirty f***ing P*** ' he got in his car and drove off. I was in a state of shock.
"My dad was born in Punjab and he said that he always wanted his kids to avoid being racially abused but I found out the hard way that people still are racist. The driver feels like many of those who use the hateful speech don't actually know the origins of the words they use.
