Teachers are walking out this week as they continue their fight for better pay
Primary schools across Glasgow remain closed as teacher strikes take place on Tuesday, January 10, with secondary schools shutting up on Wednesday, January 11.
Glasgow Live visited Tinto Primary, on Nether Auldhouse Road, on Tuesday morning as teachers formed picket lines outside school grounds from 8am to voice their cause. The clip showed the busy street outside the school, with flags and banners to grab attention. Even passersby got involved, with cars beeping their horns as they drove by.And our readers were quick to share their views, discussing the teacher strike action in the comment section of the video.
"The future of a prosperous Scotland depends on a quality of education. Good on you for defending the right of our children to a quality education that is dependent upon well qualified well paid teachers. "If the train drivers want 48,000 [£] because of the stressful job, the teachers should get 60,000 [£]", he suggested.
