A former janitor’s house is being sold by Glasgow City Council to a housing association.

The Onslow Drive property in Dennistoun, which was part of Whitehill Secondary, has had its off-market disposal approved by councillors at a meeting this week who decided that it will be purchased by Milnbank Housing Association.

The retired janitor who still lives in the two-storey detached home has agreed with the tenancy being transferred over to the housing association.A council official said:"The existing tenant has fully protected rights and his tenancy will be simply passed over to Milnbank Housing Association and he is fully in favour of this process."services and will add a unit to the social rented housing stock of the city.

Labour councillor Kevin Lalley asked if there was a possibility of a second janitor’s house in the vicinity being sold. A council official told the meeting the janitor living there had passed away and the council was dealing with the property and trying to liaise with the family to find out their intentions.
