Residents near the Banavie Road property have been allowed back into their homes after it was confirmed the items did not pose a risk to the public, and have since been removed from the garden and property.
A bomb squad that scrambled to a street in the west end earlier today has been stood down. Multiple emergency services stormed Banavie Road, after 12pm, when a 'suspected ordnance' was discovered.
Police, firefighters and the explosive ordnance disposal unit descended on the scene with the road locked down and residents evacuated from their homes. The EOD later confirmed the device found posed no risk to the public, and removed it from the garden. Residents were then allowed back into their homes.
Shortly after, a second item was discovered within the property. The cordon was put back in place before EOD returned to the scene and removed the 'inert' item.A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 12.05pm on Tuesday, 12 September, 2023, police were called to a property in Banavie Road, Glasgow, following the discovery of suspected ordnance in a back garden.
"EOD attended and confirmed the device was inert, posed no risk to the public and removed it from the garden. The cordon was stood down and residents were allowed back into their homes."The cordon was put back in place until EOD returned to examine the item, which was confirmed as inert and removed from the property.
