‘You didn’t deserve any of this. I’m so sorry this has happened to you my baby please come home.' The girlfriend of Cody Fisher who was stabbed to death on a nightclub dancefloor on Boxing Day has shared a tribute to him.

The girlfriend of a footballer who was stabbed to death on a nightclub dancefloor onCody Fisher, 23, had been on a night out with friends at the Crane venue in Digbeth,His partner, Jess Chatwin, tweeted: ‘You didn’t deserve any of this. I’m so sorry this has happened to you my baby please come home. I love you forever Cody Fisher.’

Revellers at the nightclub criticised security searches at the event and recalled a ‘moody’ atmosphere inside the venue. An 18-year-old man from Wolverhampton, who did not want to be named, said the incident was a ‘disaster waiting to happen’. ‘Obviously you want everyone to have a good time and enjoy themselves when we got in I said to my friend: ‘That’s the worst search I’ve ever seen’.
