A spokesperson for Thorp Perrow arboretum and wildlife park says it is investigating the incident.
A six-year-old girl fell into a foaming septic tank while on a day trip to a Yorkshire wildlife park, it is claimed.
Sarah Cobb, who witnessed the incident, said she had heard the child screaming for help and saw her "clinging to the sides" before being pulled out.Image caption,Ms Cobb, from Thirsk, said she was with the girl and her mother when the child spotted a "big pile of foam" near the gift shop and "raced off towards it"."The next thing, we hear screaming and only her head is visible. She was clinging on to the sides of this drain."It was absolutely horrendous.
She said they had seen "other children racing towards the foam" so had begun warning other families about the hazard before the area was roped off by staff.
