Horrific news to bring you this morning
A schoolgirl girl has tragically died after getting into difficulty in water last night after a village's annual duck race.
The alarm was raised just before 8pm and several hours after the small Greater Manchester village had enjoyed their annual duck race, which is supervised and a subsequent barbecue had been completed. Enquiries into the tragedy are ongoing but detectives say they are 'confident' there are no suspicious circumstances and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
