At less than $170, the Gigabyte's B660 Gaming X DDR4 is an ideal choice for an affordable gaming system
As well as it's very reasonably price tag, the motherboard impressed for a number of other reasons. You get three M.2 slots for the latest SSDs and one of these even includes a heatsink to keep the SSD's temperature in check or to cover up the otherwise unsightly label from spoiling your PC's aesthetics.
Compared to other motherboards in this price range, the Gigabyte B660 Gaming X DDR4 also looks great, with large gun metal grey heatsinks that kept the VRMs below 60°C in my stress tests. You get plenty of fan headers for your cooling setup too - six in total - which is more than enough for your average gaming PC.
You don't get WiFi included, though, so you'll either need to make use of the included 2.5 Gigabit network port, or buy a WiFi USB dongle. You also get a generous eight USB ports on the back panel too, catering for headphones, peripherals, printers and external storage devices. There's no RGB lighting as standard, but the board includes both 3-pin and 4-pin RGB headers for you to connect your own hardware.
