Gov. Phil Murphy spent nine days on a trade trip to Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.

— a trip that included an agreement to make it easier for South Koreans to get driver’s licenses in the Garden State and the promise of bringing new jobs here., and a delegation of more than 50 people from New Jersey’s government, education, and business communities visited Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan to discuss ways to grow the economy and foster ties between the state and those countries.

The trip followed similar visits Murphy made tobetween the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission and the National Police Agency of the Republic of Korea to simplify the process for South Koreans in New Jersey on a 12-month or longer visa to trade in their Korean driver’s license for a Garden State version and vice-versa.! 🚗 Korean citizens in NJ and NJ residents living in South Korea can convert their driver’s licenses without undergoing the traditional application process.
