A special Georgia grand jury that was investigating the efforts by Donald Trump and his allies to overturn the results of the 2020 election recommended that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis seek indictments for potential perjury by some of the witnesses called to testify.

Selected portions of what appeared to be a surprisingly brief nine-page grand jury report were released Thursday under an order issued this week by presiding Judge Robert McBurney.

At the end of a two-page introduction, the grand jurors wrote: “We set forth for the Court our recommendations on indictments and relevant statutes, including votes by the Grand Jurors. This includes the votes respective to each topic, indicated in a ‘Yea/Nay/Abstain’ format throughout.” The report even includes as an appendix a list of Georgia statutes the grand jurors believed might apply.

Sources familiar with the probe say she is now personally reviewing the testimony and potential charges with a small team of about a half dozen prosecutors in her office, led by Nathan Wade, a veteran criminal defense lawyer who was hired by Willis last year to oversee the office investigation. “The grand jury heard extensive testimony on the subject of alleged election fraud from poll workers, investigators, technical experts, and State of Georgia employees and officials, as well as from persons still claiming that such fraud took place,” the grand jurors wrote in their introduction. “We find by a unanimous vote that no widespread fraud took place in the Georgia 2020 presidential election that could result in overturning that election.
